When a post fails
Why a post didn't go out on one platform, and what to do: reconnect, try again, change the post, or leave it with us.
How to read a failed post
#When a platform doesn't take a post, Deploy says why in one plain sentence on that platform's row. You'll find it on the Deploy step right after you post, on the row's light in Advanced, and on the post's card in the Library, which lists every platform that failed and why.
The other platforms carry on regardless: one failure never holds up the rest. Retrying only sends to the platforms that failed and leaves the ones that worked alone.
If Deploy stops you before anything is sent and says you've deployed your videos for the month, that's the Free plan's monthly allowance rather than a failure. See Plans and limits.
Reconnect
#The most common failure is a platform signing an account out. The row says Reconnect YouTube to publish here. and offers a button named for the platform, like Reconnect YouTube.
- Select the Reconnect button. It opens Account, then Destinations, where you'll find the account's card.
- Select Reconnect destination on the card and sign in as the same account.
- Go back to the post in the Library and select Retry deployment.
The post itself doesn't need to change. If you retry before reconnecting, Deploy stops and asks you to reconnect first.
Try again
#Sometimes the platform itself is having trouble, is rate limiting, or timed out. Deploy tries again on its own for about 15 minutes first, waiting longer between tries, so a short hiccup usually sorts itself out. If it's still failing after that, the row says something like TikTok is having trouble processing this. Try again in a few minutes. and offers Retry. Give it a few minutes, then select Retry on the row or Retry deployment in the Library.
When YouTube or Bluesky says an account has used up its uploads for the day, Deploy doesn't fail the post straight away. It waits and tries again on its own for a few days, and the Library card says when the next try is. If the platform still says no after that, the row names the limit and offers Retry, which starts the wait over.
Change something first
#Some failures have no button because retrying the same post would fail the same way. The sentence on the row says what's wrong, for example:
X won't accept this post because it duplicates one already there.Change the caption and post the video again. This TikTok account has reached TikTok's daily posting limit. Try again tomorrow.Wait a day, then select Retry deployment in the Library. This Google account has no YouTube channel yet. Create one, then reconnect.Create the channel on YouTube, then reconnect the destination.- A suspended or closed account or channel. Sort it out with the platform first, or post from a different account.
- A video the platform turned down. The sentence names the platform's limit and your video's own number, so you know what to re-export.
One of these has a button. When Instagram says an account doesn't have enough followers for trial reels yet, the row offers Post without trial reel. It turns Trial reel off for that Instagram post only and sends it again as a regular Reel, with the same caption and everything else as it was.
Nothing to do, we're on it
#A few failures are ours to fix, not yours, like a problem with Deploy's own connection to a platform. The row says TikTok is temporarily unavailable. We're on it. (with that platform's name) and offers no button, because nothing on your end would change the outcome. We're told automatically.
A failure Deploy can't identify says Something went wrong on our side. We've been notified. It offers Retry, which is worth one try.
Both kinds show Add details, which opens a short report so you can tell us anything the error can't, like what you were posting.
When a video doesn't fit a platform
#Most of these never get as far as a failed post. Before anything is sent, Deploy checks your video against each chosen platform's own length, file size and shape rules. If one can't take it, the Media step says so, naming the limit and your video's own number, like how long the platform allows and how long your video is.
Deploy won't continue while a selected destination can't take the video. Select that destination to take it off this post, or re-export the video to fit and add it again.
