Social media video sizes and lengths for 2026

One vertical 1080 by 1920 MP4 works almost everywhere. What changes is how long it can run, how big the file can be and how much caption each platform takes. These are the limits each platform sets for videos posted from an app like Deploy, taken from their own developer documentation and checked in September 2026.

The Caption step in Deploy: one caption going to seven platforms, with a counter under each platform's logo showing how it fits that platform's limit, a first comment, and a preview.
One caption for every platform, checked against each one's limit before it posts.

Length and file size

From each platform's developer documentation, checked 2026-09-23. Deploy checks every video against these before it posts.
