How to

How to post your TikToks to Instagram Reels

Sharing from TikTok to Instagram sends a link or a Story, not a Reel, and a video saved out of TikTok carries TikTok's logo. Instagram has said plainly that it doesn't recommend Reels with other apps' logos on them, so that copy reaches fewer people. Post your original file to both instead, at the same time, and each one gets a clean upload.

The first step in Deploy: a Connect button for each of YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, X and Bluesky.
Step one. Connect each platform once, then pick where each video goes.

What changes between the two

Deploy checks all of this before it posts, so you don't have to.

Post it to both at once

  1. Keep the original

Use the video from your editor or camera roll, not one saved from TikTok. No logo means Instagram treats it like any other Reel.

  2. Switch Instagram to Creator

If your Instagram is a personal account, switch it to Creator in Instagram's settings. It takes a minute and Instagram needs it before any tool can post for you.

  3. Connect and upload

Connect TikTok and Instagram in Deploy, then upload the video once.

  4. Caption and options

One caption fills both. Add a first comment on Instagram, and set comments, duets and stitches for TikTok.

  5. Deploy

Both go out together, or schedule them. If one has a problem, the other is already live and you can retry just that one.

Questions

Can you post TikTok videos to Instagram Reels?

Yes. Post your original video file to Instagram as well as TikTok. Deploy does both from one upload.

Does a TikTok watermark hurt Instagram reach?

Yes. Instagram says it doesn't recommend Reels with logos from other apps, so a video saved from TikTok gets shown to fewer people.

Do I need an Instagram Business account?

A Business or Creator account. Instagram only lets tools post to those, and switching a personal account to Creator is free.

Try it with your next TikTok.
